Splendid, meaty sausage, traditional flavours( Pork & Walnut to die for) and some whacky new ones, all are of a very high quality, augmented by personal service and hopefully a quick blether with Cliff the proprietor!

Really big selection, some are great (Plain pork and peppery Cumberland), some tend to be dry
ML, Preston,
I visited Cowmans Sausage Shop for the first time last weekend (July 2004) only to discover my prayers had been answered. No matter how hard they try, run of the mill supermarkets just cannot get sausages right. I bought five diferent types at Cowmans and they were all fantastic, certainly worth a 500 mile round trip!

Having bought sausages from Cowmans for many years, as an avid cook I have now purchased my own sausage maker and finally tracked down sausage skins for home use. I would never have thought of doing this if I hadn''t seen how great the quality of a really good sausage could be.
My favourite is the smoked beef from Cowmans.... but I always buy two each from at least three or four other types every time I go, just to try them out.

Having been born and bred in Clitheroe and on Cowmans sausages, imagine my delight to find they can now "overnight" them down to Worcestershire. The pork & black pudding is a real taste of home.
When our Worcester friends find out when we are sending in an order they add a couple of pounds of their favorite. As to the comment that they are too dry, I think is because they are so meaty with no added fat. Fantastic for the BBQ as there is hardly any mess and cleaning.

We have been visiting Cowmans for many years and Cliff''s sausages are superb! We have never tasted one we don''t like, our favourites are the pork and chestnut, the pork apple and mint, sweet and sour, Continental, and I love his recent one, the Highlander. The best bit... no boingy bits!! Keep it up Cliff!

I like to think of myself as the Queen of Sausages and all I can say is that I am going to move to Clitheroe Castle and rule my Cowman''s sausage subjects close to their spiritual home! Yummy!!!!

After 14 years of vegetarianism I finally gave up dreaming of Cowmans sausages of past and launched into a plateful of them whilst visiting my Mum in Lancashire. Still as tasty, meaty, and as well produced as ever. Since then have turned my back on vegetariansm and decided to undertake a personal Sausage Survey of the best producers in the UK. Cowmans still beats the pants off them all, including the finest that Smithfield and Borough Markets have to offer. Keep up the fantastic work Cliff.

We''ve just bought 50 scrummy Pork, Apple & Mint. Cowmans make the best bangers in the land. No gristle - No bull!

I didn''t believe that it was possible for anyone to get so passionate about a sausage, but I was wrong. So tasty and meaty, the best I''ve tasted, makes the journey from Reading seem worth it every week. (SL - surely not even for a sausage!?)

If you want the best sausage around go to Cowmans, Sweet & Sour Pork are the best. Keep up the good work.
