Grasmere Farm rears and sells its own animals through a farm shop, markets and the internet. The pigs are reared on stone ground meal, milled at an 18th Century watermill.
They offer 12 varieties of sausage, including Lincolnshire (good chunks of meat and sage but perhaps too much cereal) in several sizes, a meaty, well spiced Bratwurst (which was even better cold) and the Rutland sausage which was created for the nearby Ram Jam Inn on the A1. They also make the Lincolnshire speciality Haslet.
The mail order service was excellent, with our sausages arriving the day after we ordered.

The Grassmere Bratwurst and Rutland Sausages are extremely meaty and perfectly seasoned, the Bratwurst compares very favourably with its German counterpart. The pork and stilton are also meaty and well worth a try as are many of the other sauages in their range.

Grasmere Farm sell all their pork produce at Ealing Farmer''s market on Saturdays. Their sausages are fantastic, with a good selection available and always vastly superior to ANY supermarket "Taste the Difference" type sausages.

Grasmere produce what is, to me, the perfect sausage - their pork & Stilton. I first had this about 5 years ago on my father''s recommendation and have been buying them ever since. The Stilton component is just right; not too heavy and well distributed. A sausage to die for and will be my last meal (should I get the choice)!
