A traditional Dales butchers located at the top of the high street in the pretty town of Pately Bridge. They offer a wide range of sausages including stilton & broccoli, chicken & herb, pork, beef, a dales sausage and gluten-free. All are made from local meat from named farms and cost around £4 per kilo.
They also sell a superb range of pork pies. As with everything they sell, these are made in the shop. Flavours include blue stilton, apple, chutney, sage & onion stuffing. The best is a pork pie with a layer of mushy peas lurking underneath the crust. A pie of the highest order to be enjoyed warm or hot!

What a find! Probably the best pork pies in the world.. Wafer thin, crisp, golden pastry, sealing in prime pork cooked to perfection in it''s own juices.
Such a contrast to the mass - produced versions with 1/4" of uncooked pastry to contain the gelatin and preservatives!
I''m just about to finish cooking their individual beef welingtons... so I''ll let you know how it goes...

The shop has recently had a makeover, but the quality of the produce and enthusiasm of the staff are as good as ever. At Christmas they do a game pie, which is out of this world !

Had a beautiful night in the Dales last night and had to use a butcher''s called Kendall''s being an Everton fan - bought a family pork pie, 1lb of chipolata and 1lb of Pateley Special sausages - sausages were absolutely superb as sausagemeat in a chilli-con-carne and I''ve never tasted a pork pie as great as Kendall''s!!
